- Hot springs in the north and northeast of Bali are our favourites. “Toya Bungkah Batur” and “Toya Devasya” hot springs are northeast of Mount Batur. Lovina Beach’s northern hot springs are undoubtedly Bali’s most famous. Tropical gardens and jungle surround the sacred “Air Panas Banjar” hot springs. It’s the perfect place to bring your swimsuit and enjoy a soothing and picture-perfect experience in three public pools and one private pool with volcanic hot water pouring out of eight stone-carved dragon heads.

- Find Bali’s abandoned planes Want a unique Bali vacation? Explore the island’s reported abandoned planes. It’s not in every guidebook and doesn’t require booking. A driver, an adventurous mindset, and Google Maps will get you there. The three most famous planes are at Nyang Nyang, Kerobokan, and midway along Bypass Ngurah Rai. Find the others!
- Enjoy a tropical drink at a top Bali bar – Bali’s best bars make outstanding drinks with care. If you want to avoid tourists, Rock Bar in Jimbaran is the most popular, but there are many more. You could visit Uluwatu’s clifftop or Canggu, Seminyak, or Ubud’s watering holes.
- Shop till you drop in Bali, where you may get furniture, apparel, homeware, bikinis, shoes, cuisine, and luggage. Seminyak and Canggu’s boho boutiques offer a wide range of western items, making them perfect for shopping therapy. Ubud’s backstreets are wonderful for traditional and handcrafted items.
- Pura Lempuyang lets you soar – Bali’s Pura Lempuyang, one thousand steps high, has religious importance and a stunning outlook. The “Gateway to Heaven” frames Mount Agung’s spectacular top on clear days. Six more temples, waterfalls, and rice terraces are around the main attraction. To enjoy this place, plan a whole day.
- Sip Bali’s best beans – Bali’s coffee selection could turn you into a coffee enthusiast. The range includes cold brews, iced lattes, French presses, and espressos. Visit a Bedugul coffee estate or the author’s favourite Bali coffee shops.
- Stay in a luxurious villa – Bali has several beautiful accommodations. Seminyak villas, Canggu homes, and Ubud forest castles are all available. Bali offers luxury at affordable prices, with beachfront, clifftop, and rice valley homes.
- Walk through a sea of marigolds in Desa Temukus, a secluded village in East Bali. Marigolds, used in Hindu god offerings, are abundant in these fields. Visit two weeks before a major Balinese ritual, generally a harvest. If you’re unsure, ask the locals because the dates sometimes change.
- Swing through the trees — We’ve all seen those gorgeous photos of Bali swings in the treetops. The Zen Hideaway retreat in Ubud’s highlands has a famous swing. The island has additional amazing swings. Zen Hideaway is ideal for jungle-view swings. Pandawa Beach or Gili Trawangan are good places to swing with your feet in the ocean.
- Visit the Bali Botanic Gardens in Bedugul for a mountain wind, lush green meadows, and carefully managed gardens that stretch for miles. Its bamboo forest offers a thrilling walk. Picnicking at this picturesque spot is advised. Take a roadside basket of fresh strawberries.
- Dolphin watch in Lovina – Lovina in North Bali is a beautiful vacation, but adding a dolphin watching excursion will make it much better. Take an outrigger before sunrise to see dolphin silhouettes against the brilliant sky. It starts your day perfectly.
